Payroll Services in Moncton

Pay runs, source deductions, CRA remittances, T4s and Records of Employment for Greater Moncton employers. $60 an hour, no monthly contract.

Hiring your first employee is a big step. It also means new obligations: deducting CPP, EI and income tax from every cheque, sending those amounts to the CRA on time, issuing T4s every February and a Record of Employment whenever someone leaves.

None of it is difficult once it is set up properly. The trouble is that payroll does not forgive mistakes. A late remittance or a missed deduction comes with penalties and interest, even when the error was an honest one.

Accounting Moncton runs payroll for small businesses across Greater Moncton, from one employee to a full team. We are a QuickBooks ProAdvisor practice in Moncton, and your first consultation is free.

Why payroll is worth getting right

Every time you pay an employee, you are holding money that belongs to the CRA: the income tax, CPP and EI you deducted, plus your own employer share of CPP and EI. Those source deductions must reach the CRA by their due date. For most small employers, that is the 15th of the month after payday.

The CRA charges a penalty on late remittances that starts at 3% and rises to 10% the longer it is late, plus interest. Failing to deduct the right amounts can cost 10% of what should have been withheld. These add up quickly for a small business.

We run each pay on schedule, calculate the deductions correctly, remit on time and keep the records the CRA expects you to keep. You get a clear summary of every pay run, and your employees get accurate pay stubs.

Hiring your first employee?

Before the first pay, a new employer needs a few things in place:

  • A CRA payroll account (RP0001) added to your business number. We can register it for you.
  • TD1 forms from each employee, so the right amount of tax is withheld.
  • A pay schedule and a plan for vacation pay. In New Brunswick, employees earn vacation pay of at least 4% of wages, rising to 6% after eight years with the same employer.
  • WorkSafeNB registration, if your business is required to register.

We set this up with you, then run payroll in QuickBooks Online so the pay, the deductions and the bookkeeping all live in one place. Payroll is billed at $60 an hour, with no packages or monthly contracts. HST is extra.

Common questions about payroll in Moncton

How much do payroll services cost in Moncton?

Payroll is billed at $60 an hour, the same rate as our bookkeeping, with no setup packages or monthly contracts. A small team on a regular schedule usually takes very little time each pay. We give you an estimate after a free consultation. HST is extra.

When are payroll remittances due to the CRA?

For most small employers (regular remitters), source deductions are due to the CRA by the 15th of the month after the month you paid your employees. Larger employers and new employers in some situations have different schedules; we confirm yours when we set you up.

Can you set up payroll for my first employee?

Yes. We can register your CRA payroll account, collect TD1 forms, set up the employee in QuickBooks Online Payroll and run the first pay with you, so everything is right from day one.

What happens when an employee leaves?

We issue the Record of Employment through Service Canada, calculate final pay and any vacation pay owing, and make sure the year-end T4 reflects everything paid.
