A NUANS® (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search) is a search that compares your proposed business name with existing corporate names and trademarks across Canada. This helps ensure your desired name is unique and not already in use or too similar to another registered business.

Before you incorporate a Named Corporation, a NUANS® Pre-Search helps avoid rejection by identifying potential name conflicts early. If the name you suggest is unavailable, we’ll ask for up to three alternate names to proceed with the process.
