Add a Trade Name to Your Corporation

Operate your corporation under a different business name. We prepare and file the trade name registration for you.

What Is a Trade Name?

A trade name, also called a DBA (“doing business as”) or operating name, lets your corporation do business under a name other than its legal name. For example, 123456 N.B. Ltd. could operate as “Moncton Home Repairs”. The trade name has to be registered in the province where you use it.

What We Do

  • Check that the name is ready to register (a NUANS name search is available if you need one)
  • Prepare and file the trade name registration
  • Send you the registration documents for your minute book
  • Handle renewals when the registration comes due

Price

$200, which includes government filing fees. HST is extra. A NUANS name search report can be added for $50.

What You Need

  • Your corporation’s legal name and corporation number
  • The trade name you want to use
  • A short description of the business you will do under that name
  • Your registered office address
